Caroline Svensson works as Key Account Manager at Transtema in Gävle. She started her position in 2012 and when worked with logistics and as an internal salesperson. Her role has changed over time, but she has always had her basis in sales. Now she works as a salesperson dedicated to her customers, and her working days are filled with meetings and conversations with both customers and suppliers.

“I really enjoy my role as a salesperson. I am a positive person who really enjoys meeting people, new challenges and finding sustainable solutions. This is clearly an advantage in my everyday work.”

It was curiosity about a new industry that made Caroline try herself in the telecoms industry.

“I have previously worked in sales, as a project manager and with marketing activities within business to business, but within completely different industries. Working with networks and communication solutions was completely new to me and I was attracted to learning about new area in an industry which is characterized by rapid changes and which is always evolving.”

What do you do in a typical week at work?

It’s very diverse. As I am responsible for my customers, I have a lot of contact with the customers I am responsible for. I help them find new solutions, receive orders, respond to tenders and quotation requests and follow up on how our work is going and what their needs are. I believe in good sustainable collaborations where we can develop together. I also meet with many suppliers to get, for example, product reviews and news. We also attend a number of fairs to meet customers and network with others in the industry. I also spend some time learning more about new solutions and new technology to stay up to date with what is happening in our industry.

I work closely with my colleagues in both sales and technology, but also with other parts of the business, for example the logistics department, so that we can get a good flow in our delivery and be able to plan the business in a good way.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text css=””]

How has your job changed since you started?

It has evolved tremendously! Both my position and the company itself. The company in the group to which I belong was taken over by Transtema in 2017. I feel that the company has changed a lot during my time here, especially in recent years. We have grown a lot and now it is noticeable that we are part of a large group “Transtema”. This means that we have a much wider offer for our customers. We still offer specialist expertise in consulting services, products and monitoring, and we can supplement this with other companies in the group’s offer within, for example, service, construction and maintenance. Together, we become a total supplier with a unique offer on the market. There we have an offer with secure network operation which is a fantastic overall solution through all parts of the network.

What is the most challenging thing about your job?

The most challenging thing is to understand all the technical terms and expressions, sometimes it feels as if the experts are speaking a different language. But I learn something new all the time, and in my role I don’t need to know all the technical details. We have fantastic network specialists and network consultants who are there to support. We are a Team!

What do you think is the best thing about working at Transtema?

That we think ahead and are a dynamic and modern company. I appreciate that Transtema has high goals in, for example, the environment, equality and inclusion. I thrive in an environment where there is progress and a will to develop, and that’s it here. Transtema is also unique on the market in our offer, which makes my role as a seller very fun!
