Charlotta is a curious person who likes to learn new things, which is why she has taken on several new roles at Transtema since she started in 2019. From being a production coordinator, she has moved on to become a business developer and is also a project manager in a new improvement project.
What does your work as a business developer look like?
My current role involves driving and supporting the company’s development work. This means that I have a very varied daily routine. Many people in the organization approach me with different questions, and I do my best to provide them with answers or help them move forward. I guide and ensure that things turn out as well as possible from an overall perspective.
I am also fortunate to work a lot in our business system, which I find very enjoyable. Creating order and structure is something I am good at and like doing. In our business system, I set up different so-called lobbies to give users a quick overview of the information relevant to them. I do this by coding and building filters based on different roles.
The most challenging part of my job is finding the balance between what I, in my role, see as important for the company and ideas that others want to implement. To succeed in this, I think it is important to have good dialogue and work closely with the business. There is so much that is important and fun to work with, so sometimes it’s hard to find enough time.
The best part of my job is that I get to learn new things all the time and talk to many different people who have various perspectives. There are always new things that I didn’t know I didn’t know.
Project manager for new improvement project
In my role as a business developer, I also function as a project manager. Right now, we are in the startup phase of a new improvement project where I will be the project manager. The project is about creating a better working day for our technicians, and the goal is to ensure they have the right conditions to do a good job and be satisfied with their work. I will conduct field visits, interviews, and surveys to get a solid foundation and broad input from the company. It will be very exciting to be a part of this project!
Various roles over the years
When I started working at Transtema in 2019, it was in the role of production coordinator at the Service Operation Center (SOC). SOC leads our technicians in their daily work and handles incoming work orders. They ensure the right technician goes to the right place based on the required skills for the job, which can involve both troubleshooting and installation in all types of communication networks. In that role, I also helped start a new service area.
I worked as a production coordinator for about a year and a half. Then a business developer position was advertised, which sounded very exciting and felt right for me. I applied for the job and got it. Later, I also took on the role of management leader for the route planning system we use, called PSO. It is a system support for our production coordinators when they plan jobs for our technicians.
It is my curiosity that has driven me to seek new tasks and roles. I have been told that I am a person with an “inquiring and curious approach to life,” which is probably quite accurate!
Engagement in Transtema’s volunteering work
Something I value highly is Transtema’s engagement in various sustainability issues, especially our social commitment. On several occasions, I have volunteered at our various initiatives for Stadsmissionen. For example, I have participated in organizing our Halloween parties for children in Stadsmissionen’s operations at the head office in Mölndal.
I think it’s fantastic that we get this opportunity at work. It’s a lot of fun and feels good to spend time doing something positive for others!
